It is better to breed guinea pig when they are young because when they get older it will be difficult for them to give birth. When the baby guinea pigs are born they should be left with their mother for 6-7 weeks as they need to wean before they can be separated from the mother.

You should be gentle when holding or carrying your guinea pig because handling roughly may hurt your precious fragile piggy. Try to avoid loud noisy areas because it will frighten your guinea pig and make it very nervous.
